ABOUT
John is a respected and well versed real estate professional with tremendous experience across real estate related disciplines. The focus of his expertise is on the global real estate portfolios of corporate end users- Global or Multi-national Corporation.
The earlier part of his career was spent in the design and construction realm, acting as a practicing design engineer overseeing design and construction on buildings and interiors of all use types including corporate offices, data centers, biotech labs, industrial manufacturing, warehouse and distribution, restaurant, supermarket and hotel facilities.
www.gtech.com In 1999 through 2005 John engaged with Worldwide Lottery market leader, GTech Corp in the role of Sr. Manager of Global Real Estate. His focus was planning, strategy and delivery of corporate and revenue side projects for GTech’s worldwide operations. John was instrumental in providing Real Estate guidance and delivery for each new subsidiary, beginning at the RFP stage.
Upon each new international contract, John would lead site selection and utilize local resources to secure leases, design and construction of required facilities including office space, data centers, lab, testing and repair sites as well as warehouse and distribution sites including secure storage for instant tickets when applicable in the US and Globally.
www.ece.com From 2006 to 2011 John then joined Hamburg based market leading retail developer & investor, ECE to lead Project Management and Construction of one of the International subsidiaries, first in Bulgaria and then dedicating full efforts to projects in Ukraine. There John was instrumental in staffing the local office up to 30 professionals and pursuing development projects throughout many major cities. These efforts included negotiations with local owners and municipalities, developing concept designs, pro-forma calculations and investment board presentations. Typical projects were urban shopping centers from 60,000 -100,000 sq.m in Gross Leasable Area. In 2009, John was transferred to Warsaw to lead the project management teams in the subsidiary in Poland with 5 operating shopping centers in the portfolio and more in planning stages. John was later transferred back to Hamburg and joined the newly established M&A group to assist in sourcing acquisitions of shopping center assets for a new fund, “The ECE Prime European Shopping Center Fund” which was capitalized with approx. 1.0 bil Euro. John’s role focused on evaluating the physical attributes, financial strength and investment viability of shopping center assets in Spain and Portugal. While working with ECE, John resided in Hamburg, Kiev and Warsaw.
www.progress.com Returning to the US in 2012, John engaged with global software provider, Progress Software taking on Global responsibility of Real Estate including Projects and Transaction, Facilities, Workplace Services and Security with a team of 43 globally. John personally led some key initiatives such as a major APAC portfolio realignment as well as the formulation of developer RFPs, project Scope, financial calculations, selection process and final negotiation of a sale agreement, development agreement and 10 yr. lease agreement for a sale/leaseback, build to suit office building to accommodate 1000 software developers in Eastern Europe.
